We have to get out on the snow shoes again!

We took a ride to Oshkosh today to go to Hughes' candy-mmmmm! We had nice Canada fish for supper and a ride to Elkart Lake to see the sites-horse drawn carriage, etc.

The outfit of the day!

I didn't go outside all day-stayed in my new long underwear and pj's! We were able to watch the Packer game online-great game!

My little metal tree-Evans in Kiel

Doing this and that today. Looking forward to a fun night snowshoeing the Ice Age Trail to see if animals really CAN talk at midnight Christmas Eve!

The crossing guard on 57 near the school

This guy waves at every single vehicle that passes while he is crossing the children by the True Value Hardware Store. Today I had to take his picture all decked out as Santa!

Winter Solstice Total Lunar Eclipse starting at midnight!

For the first time in over 400 years there will be a total lunar eclipse tonight (midnight to 2:00 a.m.) on the winter solstice night. The moon will be at its highest point in the sky. However, we will not see it because we have overcast and snowy forcast. Emily says they have clear skies tonight and a beautiful full moon. Don't miss it if you have fair skies! This picture was last night through our high window. It is always a beautiful sight.

The little angel still sits atop the Rhoades tree.

Merry Chirstmas to All!

Many of the Clauses, Rhoades, and offsprings were together for the celebration of my mother's 90th birthday following Jana and Jared's Texas wedding. What fun! Tom and Molly Clause came from Des Moines, Iowa (daughters Meredith and Hilary and families live in Minneapolis and Seattle respectively). Haley and Bill flew in from Marquette, Michigan. Lindsay and Thomas, Jeff and Leizl's children live near Austin, Texas, they flew from South Africa, Mother back in Jefferson, Iowa, Emily and Jon from Colorado Springs, Jesse from Athens, Ohio Jana and Jared from Mobile, Alabama, and Peter and me from New Holstein, Wisconsin.

Dad's version of Rocco Dispirito's Chicken Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy

We are using what we have in the freezer. We could eat for two years I think-really! This was a breaded pork tenderloin that we got in Iowa a while back. It is baked, not fried. Quite good-especially the gravy made with Greek yogurt!  It is from his book: Now Eat This!

It is tied to both doors so I hope it doesn't fall over.
