Elkart Lake Farmer's Market

Swiss Chard, mixed lettuce and spinach, new potatoes, green beans, radishes, green peppers, red onion, sweet corn, and Michigan peaches paired with Peter's marinated pork on the grill AND transparent apple pie! Yum!

I've never heard of a transparent apple pie. Wonder if you could post a recipe?

Transparent apples make the best apple pie. No new recipe-just the name of the apples. Transparent apples are the first of the season-yellow and a great pie apple. We search for them each year and were able to find them south of DePere, Wisconsin. $4.00 for a great bushel of large apples. Usually they fall off the trees and go to waste-what a shame!

It was $4.00 for a big bag and $13.00 a bushel.
