What's going on?
When I left this morning Peter was painting the trim in the living room-touch ups from the putty and nail holes. The screen porch has the green soffit and fashia done. We have had nice sunny weather so working outside has progressed. We picked up the knotty pine ceiling for the porch this week and found out that we have to waterproof both sides and could not use the material that was already finished like indoors. That will be some extra work.

Screen porch addition.

The screen porch is 13x12. It is constructed with rough sawn cedar posts and 2x6 materials. It took half a day to frame and a half a day to shingle. Fascia and soffet (?) are progressing. We need to go to Schmidt Lumber in Shawano for the knotty pine ceiling. Screens to be put in next spring. Green smart siding trim to go on the outside.

Updates!
There is no more trim cluttering up the living room. Peter is very close to being done with all the trim, filling holes, painting, and chalking. The cement board is on the fireplace awaiting the stone that is being cut.
Larry and his worker are coming bright and early in the morning to begin work on the screen porch-yeah. We are beginning the process of changing our loan from a construction loan to a mortgage. Things are almost done!
And, Andy is constructing the railing for the new stairway. We have the wood and noseboard (?),( that rounded wood for the front of the steps) all set for the final steps.

Slate floor and tiled walls done by Emily and Jon

Peter went out for several days and help gut and redo the Colorado Springs 1910 Bungalow. I went out for four days to help paint the bathroom and bedroom.

Do they look like brothers?

Scott, Peter's brother was here this weekend and we spent a great deal of time outside. Saturday was a snow that didn't settle on the ground and Sunday was a beautiful fall day, blue sky and gorgeous trees. We hiked at Ledge View Nature Center south of New Holstein and toured a couple little lakes near our home.

Peter had to officiate last night and work in Marinette today. Trim work is almost done in the kitchen-the windows look bigger! Door knobs and handles are on and the pile of trim in the living room is getting smaller and smaller. We are still trying to harvest tomatoes, but the red ones are fewer and farther between. Peter's brother Scott is in Wisconsin from Arizona and will be spending some time at our house this weekend. I asked Peter if he knows we will put him to work! Fall colors are at their peak, so we will be taking a fall color ride for sure.

No recipe available!

It started with leftover sloppy joe (our recipe) then tomatoes and green chilies, rice, lentils, and other things I'm not sure of. We baked them an hour at 275 and then another 30-45 minutes at 350 as they were not done at first. Yum!!

Speaking of heat
The house has not gone below 61 and with drapes open during the day it increases to 63-not bad, when all I have been doing is coming home and going to bed. Last night we turned on the gas fireplace which is really a gas heater. It has kept the living side of the house at 70 and the bedroom side is up to 65. We have not officially turned on the furnace which is 98 percent efficient, but the fireplace is 85 percent. We also have the ceiling fans at half speed. With tomatoes and chili simmering on the stove it is nice and cozy.

Doors!
Peter was home on Monday and part of Tuesday this week, so the doors upstairs are in. I have been filling holes and painting. Concrete work has called Peter to Marinette-due home tomorrow. We need to get Andy going on the railing so we can concentrate on other projects.
