It started raining yesterday afternoon about 4:00 p.m. and didn't quit until this morning after we started working. The Elite crew arrived early to a soggy mess with the crane shortly after. Work started with the setting of the beams and finished with roof panels on the North and South partitions. It took a little time for the crew to get everything rolling smoothly but once they got going it went well. Credit goes to the the crane operator, the Elite Boys and a good sledge hammer. Thanks!

The house is going up so fast that I can't keep up with the latest pictures. These are the pictures as of yesterday. I just went over to the site and "walked in my house!" The wall panels are all in and it looks like they are ready to do some roof stuff next week. I will take more pictures tomorrow.
My first impression is, "There is a lot of glass!" The window and door openings look so big. I'm sure when the windows and doors go in that they will look different. The views are tremendous-lots of fall colors showing in Wisconsin!
Many people have come by-even the fire chief. He had seen a house go up on TV similar to ours and he had thought to himself that his crew should learn how to fight a fire in this kind of situation. And then, he drives by our house, and there it is in New Holstein. He took pictures and wants to come over and do more.
I like what I see so far and it is much easier for me to figure things out when there is more than one dimension! How I can be the sister of an architect and not be able to visualize this house is a mystery to Peter and Brandon our builder!

So, that higher panel...is that on the front of the house? Is it on the left or right? My guess is looking at the picture that it is the front left hand side of the house. So the kitchen is in front of the living room and the thing popped out of the side of the house is in the living room.

Hey! Maybe you can take some pictures of the magazine pictures of the inside of the house?! Or a picture of the big floorplans?

And what have you been doing all morning?

This is not the question to ask a construction worker. And, I won't tell you what his answer was.

Andrea was kept busy "gophering" and keeping the site tidy and gathering the crooked nails.

Monday and Tuesday we were busy finishing the deck and cleaning up before the house panels arrived.

Peter said, "I think we need to go eat lunch!" None of them took a tumble, but it was windy and fun. They really knew what they were doing.
